The rp is based around Torchwood Two, the Gaslow branch of the Torchwood Institute, tasked (among other things) to keep an eye on the space/time Rift and the events that surround it. Torchwood Two is a team of seven operatives, led by Rowan, who is secretly a Time Lord, with Jillian Olivine, the newest addition to the team who joins in to see what is the fuss about Torchwood. Aside from the team, the Torchwood Three team drops in once and a while to help Torchwood Two out with their problems. Now the team must deal with responsibilities of protect the Crown and Country from the paranormal, not knowing that their leader is paranormal himself.

A gigantic robotic being, unmistakenly of alien origin, has been found beneath the frozen sea of Antartica. Its engineering renders human technology obsolete, and unlocking its potential secrets will advance English science eons into the future. In search of the mysterious artifacts origin, Torchwood has assigned Torchwood Two and Three to the case.
While investigating the artifact, the teams make contact with aliens and other other-worldly beings more than ever. Is this artifact attracting these creatures? Or is it something much bigger? Either way, the rift has grown stronger. What will Torchwood Two and Three do?
