After Tracy met Evie, she was never the same. She had already been cutting and yes she was a little rebellious but as her mother Mel said, Tracy was playing with Barbies before she met Evie. Tracy had good friends who came from good families. She paid attention in class and did everything good girls did. Sure things were particularly bad in Tracy's house. Her parents were divorced and she never saw her dad, her mother was a recovering alcoholic who let her friends stay over and eat up their food for free, she and her brother were always at each other's throat, and her mother's boyfriend who was a recovering junkie had moved into the already cramped up house. Other than that Tracy was grounded.
That all changed though when Tracy met Evie and decided she wanted to be friends with her. She dropped her old friends to hang out with Evie's friends. She even gained the attention of her crush Javi who she began hooking up with. She started drinking, doing drugs, giving head, stealing, selling drugs, getting piercings and basically doing everything a parent wouldn't want their child to do. Tracy was still cutting but now that wasn't her only destructive behavior. Evie convinced Tracy to do things she never would have considered doing (like getting her tongue and navel pierced). It was a whole new world for Tracy, but as soon as everything started, it ended.
Evie had been staying with Tracy and her family while her cousin and legal guardian was recovering from ear surgery and because she had lied about being abused by Brooke's boyfriend. When Mel found out that Tracy was failing she picked the two girls up from school and drove to Evie's house. When it was apparent that Brooke was fine, Mel made it quite clear that Evie would move back in with Brooke. Evie was devastated by the fact that she couldn't move in permanently with Mel so she took her anger out on Tracy. All the friends that Tracy gained by hanging out with Evie immediately dropped her, including Javi. They acted as if Tracy didn't exist anymore.
As if that wasn't bad enough, Tracy came home one day to find her mom, Evie, and Brooke all in the living room. Evie pulled Tracy to her saying she was sorry, but Tracy didn't understand what was going on until she noticed her wallet on the table with over $800 spilling out of it, along with all of her clothes that she and Evie had stolen. At first Tracy denied it and then she lashed out at her mother. When Brooke began to speak it was evident what happened. Tracy realized that Evie had told Brooke that Tracy was responsible for all of it. She made it seem like Tracy was the bad influence. Tracy was shocked. In the heat of the argument Brooke grabbed Tracy's arm and showed Mel every mark that Tracy had cut into her skin. Tracy broke down in tears not believing that Evie had done this to her. Brooke told Mel scars from where Evie and Tracy had been hitting each other after getting high, but of course she only knew about the bruises that Tracy had given Evie. With that done Evie and Brooke left the house. Evie and Tracy's friendship officially ended. Tracy realized that Evie was never really a good friend recalling when she had unknowingly found Javi and Evie hooking up in the dressing room of a store (of course Tracy had been drunk and high at the time so she didn't even know it). What kind of friend was Evie really if she turned Tracy onto ultra destructive behavior.
And that ladies and gentlemen is where our story begins.
Evie and Brooke didn't end up moving to Ojai. They stayed right where they were and unknown to her cousin, Evie continued with her old ways. She remained friends with the same people and continued to rule the school. Even once she reached high school she ruled the school. As for Tracy, she went back to being friends with her old friends. Her home life is still as it once was. Even so she still isn't the girl that she was before she met Evie but at the same time isn't the girl she was after she met Evie. She never spoke to Evie again unless of course they were trading snide remarks. She hated Evie for everything she had done. She watched in the background once they got to high school as Evie continued to be Ms. Popular, silently loathing and envying her all at the same time. And now to add to everything, Evie and Javi have hooked up and are dating.
Now the two girls are 16 years old and juniors in high school. What will become of them? Will they bury the hatchet and become friends again? And if so will Tracy fall back into the destructive behavior that Evie seems to live for? Who knows but one thing is for sure: When they were 13 things were bad but now they are far worse
