After becoming the Pirate King (well, Queen), Elizabeth Turner led the war between the Pirates and the East India Trading Company, defeated the Captain of the Flying Dutchman, and watched her new husband, William Turner, become the new captain and the ferrier of souls. But on Will's last day ashore, Elizabeth became pregnant with twins, who she named William and Emily. For a few years they lived on Shipwreck Island, where Emily became the best friend of Armando Barbossa and Anamaria Sparrow, while young William kept to himself and his mother. But when she was five, Elizabeth and William left Emily's life, and returned to Port Royal. Elizabeth gave her title back to her predecessor, Teague Sparrow, and gave her Lordship of Singapore to her first-mate. There they stayed for the next five years, when Will came home--and left again, they remained.

Now 10 years later, they're all grown up at age 20. William is working as a blacksmith's apprentice in the same place where his father worked. Elizabeth is counting down the days when her husband returns, and wonders what is happening with her only daughter.
Since Elizabeth's departure, Calypso, now once again Tia Dalma, has taken care of her youngest child, Emily Turner. Emily is now the Pirate Princess, a title given to her at birth, unbeknown to her mother for some reason, and is one of the three most fearsome pirates in Caribbean Sea, and the World. With her title she commands the Pirate World, save the Pirate King, the Pirate Prince--her best friend, Armando Barbossa--and her other best friend and elder sister-figure, Anamaria Sparrow, with fear and respect. But now, the Princess is questioning herself as her long-gone mother and brother return with the one person she's never known. And just as this is happening, the Royal Navy is dispensed to destroy the Pirate Community.
