Phoebe came downstairs her clothes now dry as well as the rest of her and caught Lily watching the picture. Her empathy told her everything, but Melody didn't know that and Phoebe didn't want to give Melody an insecure feeling around her as some felt when they knew Phoebe could feel everything they were. Feeling a sharp pain Phoebe could feel Lily's immense sadness. Poor Lily-Rose had to go through so many things and at that age.
"Hey hunny..." she said, going over to her. "I know what it's like," she said quietly. Phoebe had lost her mother with only one memory...but she knew the feeling of her mom's presense and missed it greatly. Seeing Patty with the time traveling didn't make it any better showing her what she had missed out on having- a pure, unbreakable love throughout her life from her mom. She wished she had had it.

"It doesn't get any easier does it?" She asked as a tear fell down her face. It had happened about 11 years ago when Melody had just turned 7. You would have thought that she would have gotten over it, or forgotten it by now but she couldn't forget, but it was also too painful for her when she remembered.
Melody knew that when Phoebe touched her she would get a premonition of what happened when Melody's mother was killed. She had got the exact same reaction from Kyra.

Piper glanced at Melody, it was times like this she wished that she had empathy. She smiled weakly, knowing her sister would be able to calm her down better than what Piper could right now. "I'm going to go get you some dry clothes, your about the same size as Melinda and she won't mind." Well melinda was never home so....

"It does get easier...when you have people who care about you by your side," said Phoebe, and streched out her hand to rub Melody's back comfortingly but instead got a premonition. When she opened her eyes she didn't like what she saw. She realised suddenly how much worse it was for melody than it was for her. She couldn't remember anything, like Prue and Melody could. She watched as Piper went to get clothes for Melody and looked at her. "You have a terrible past...but the thing is, you can have an amazing future if you want."

Since Phoebe knew about her past Melody knew that she would also know that she was half witch half demon. "Guess I should have told you earlier huh?" She smiled weakly. "How?" She asked when Phoebe said she could have an amazing future. Now don't get her wrong she wanted more than anything to have a better future. TO be happy but she didn't know how she could do that after being though so much already.

"It's ok," said Phoebe, when Melody said she should've told her about being half witch half demon earlier. Because...it's hard, I know, but you just have to move on, and you have people who care about you now...we'll help you, I promise," she said to Melody, hugging her.

Melody smiled and hugged Phoebe back. "Thank you..." She would never admit out loud that she missed her mother, but some days were harder to get though than others. But at least now she didn't have to go thought it all alone.

"Any time." Phoebe gently let go of Melody and took up the picture. "It's honestly a rare occasion in the Halliwell family to get everyone together...that's why we only have one of these pictures, otherwise we take more seperate pictures...like siblings, parents and children...it makes it easier," she smiled, putting down the picture again.

Piper came down stairs with some dry clothes. "A big family that never spends any time at home anymore." She said only over hearing the last part of the conversation. She passed Lily the clothes "Here you go hunny, You'll be able to change in Melinda's room, which is the first room on the right up the stairs." The room would be easy to find because all the kids rooms had their names on the doors.

Phoebe looked at the clothes and thought Piper had made a good choice- it would suit Melody nicely. "Go on and change...you can come back down when you're done, Piper and I will be right here," she said with a soft smile. She glanced over at Piper. Melody was lucky. There was a lot if times Piper or Phoebe would get motherly instincts, sometimes over innocents, but it was the first time both of them felt the need to protect her. Of-course they would always need to protect but it was different.

Melody smiled, who knows maybe her life was turning round but the truth was she had never felt more at home than what she did when she was here. She took the clothes from Piper. "Thank you." She nodded and went upstairs to get changed

When Melody went upstairs piper went over to Phoebe. "Ok I know that face... What did she tell you?" Piper really wanted to help this girl. It was a motherly instinct. She got the feeling that she had to protect this girl no matter what.

Phoebe sighed. "She showed me...not really told me...she's half demon but," Phoebe shook her head slightly. "What she's been through could turn anyone to the path of evil...but she chose the other way. I saw her mother's death Piper," said Phoebe, reminding her very much of when she was forced to see her own mom's death to be able to vanquish the demon that murdered Patty.

Piper's heart really went out for her, some of the things that Melody had seen at such a young age was something that Piper could only imagine. "We have to help her Phoebe, I wanna help her..." Like Phoebe said she was half demon and with what she had been though no one would blame her if she chose evil but she hadn't. "Poor kid..." This was the first time both Piper and Phoebe got motherly instincts to protect an innocent.
