Chris sighed lightly when his mother stood up and looked away from him. He couldn't handle this. He knew that she felt like she didn't have anyone anymore. Leo worked at the school and he was a whitelighter, and it seemed that Melinda and Wyatt weren't around very much anymore either, but Chris always stayed around as much as possible because he couldn't stand his mother being hurt, and so he wanted her to at least have one child, and she still would because his feelings about leaving her alone had not changed.
"Mom," he said lightly as he walked over and placed his hand lightly on her shoulder. "I would never leave you alone, mom. I am always here with you. I stay around here as much as I can because I can't stand you thinking that you have lost all of your family." He paused for a mere second to let the effect intensify. "I will never let that happen."

Leo got up and walked over to his wife. "Piper, listen to him. You know Chris. Do you really thinkt that he would leave you alone? I know that I'm not the best example of that, but I will try harder to be around. Plus, do you know how hard it is to get a job at Magic School?" he asked Piper as he looked at her. He was worried about her and how she was taking this. he hated when she bottled up her emotions. If she bottled too much up, she would explode with them all at once. He really didn't want to get blown up again either. He turned to his son. "We are both very proud of you" he said as he smiled at him, turning back to Piper. "Everything will be okay" he said as he hugged her.

"You said you would never leave me and you did.... Paige said she would always be there for me and she's not...." Paige was always at magic school, and wasn't there when Piper and Phoebe faced Axelia and Cole on their own, they were lucky to come back at all. Why was magic taking away everything that was close to her? She remembered when Leo was made an Elder and it meant she had to lose him, it had broke her heart. Paige: Piper! Piper: Stay away from me. Paige: We're taking you home. Phoebe: To your family. Piper: What family? Phoebe: To your son. Wyatt. Remember him? Paige: He needs his mother. Phoebe: He already lost his father, don't take his mother away from him too. (Piper disappears.) [In the heavens. Piper appears.] Piper: Where is he? Where is Leo? (Leo goes over to her.) Leo: Piper, what are you doing here? Piper: How can you do this? Leo: Uh, excuse us for a minute. Piper: You asked me to marry you and I did. You wanted a family and I gave you a son. And now you want me to watch you just walk away? Leo: It's not that simple. Piper: Then make it simple. Because I'm trying really hard to understand. Leo: Piper, if I had a choice in any of this, I would choose you. I always have. Piper: Then choose me now. Then let's go home. Leo: Don't you think I want to? Piper: I don't know. And that's what scares me the most.
"How can you say that everything is going to be okay?... huh?... We've had our own grand children come back and tell us that the futures not going okay...." She wasn't going to cry, she wouldn't let herself. She knew she should hold her emotions in but was her natural reaction to hide it, her way of stopping herself from getting hurt and coping with everything.

Chris took a few steps away from his mother as she began her little tantrum. He brought his hands up and laid his face down in them. He couldn't stand this. The thing that he hated the most out of it was that his mother didn't trust his word. He really did understand that she had lost a lot to magic school, and just to magic in general, but she needed to understand his position as well.
Chris let a look of anger flow over his face. He held his hand out to a lamp on the table by the couch. He threw his hand angrily towards the wall and the lamp flew at the wall and shattered into a million pieces. Chris was losing it now. He began yelling at his mother, something that he actually hardly ever, if at all, recurred doing to his mother. "Mom, why can't you trust me! Why can't you be happy for me!" Anger flared in his voice and his eyes seemed to have flames running through them.

Leo's quickly turned around to Chris, having shattered a lamp on the wall. "Chris!" Leo yelled, which was a rare thing for him to do. He sort of shocked himself as he yelled at him, but it was necessary. "Calm down, give her a break. You and I both know what I have put her through over the years. I don't blame her for having these feelings. But you have to understand where she is coming from on this. We are both happy for you" he said, his voice still raised. He turned back to Piper. "I'm not going anywhere, not anymore. Neither is our son" he said as he looked into her eyes.

"Chris I understand really I do..." But she was scared of losing everyone, after being let down so many times already, who could blame her? "I get why you want to do this, Chris, and I understand that you can't ignore your calling, but I do have to deal with it somehow." She had calmed down. "I can't stop you from working at magic school and I don't like it... but.... I am proud of you, Always have been and I always will be." She said with a smile.

Chris couldn't stand this anymore. He knew that his mother was dead set against him working at that school, and he couldn't stand being around her right now. He knew that she was trying to let it work, but he still knew that she really didn't want it to happen, and if anything got in the way she just wouldn't mind at all.
He looked deep at her, shaking his head lightly. He hated the fact that he was doing something that his mother didn't like, but he wasn't going to let her stop it. "I'm sorry," his voice almost whispered. And with that, he orbed out of the room, a silent tear falling down his face and onto the floor.
