Dahni walked into her Grams' room, halfway hoping no one was in here. She looked at all the pictures of her mom, and smiled. Looking back on it, she couldn't really remember her mother or anyone, but she did remember this room, because she lived in this room, she always watched her Grams & Gramps sleep when they were still alive, which was when she was like three. But after she was adopted, she did have dreams about her mom, and suprisingly, she and Dahni's adopted mother looked very similar. "I wish I could have met her," Dahni whispered, brushing her now brunette hair out of her crying eyes.

"Your more like her than what you know." Piper was stood at her doorway, She had been watching Dahni sadly, She knew what it was like to not know your mother, Piper barely remembered her own because she was killed at an early age but she had got to know her again, It was a comfort to know that she could summon her grams or her mother when she needed them.

Dahni turned around suprised, knocking over a few things, and breaking them. "Oh no, sorry, it always happens. Dad and Sam learned not to scare me unless something wants to be broken. Mom always didn't care though." It seemed wierd to Dahni that she was talking about her adopted family in front of a member af her real one, but sometimes it seemed to Dahni that her adopted family was actually her real one. "It's strange, I've never known Mum, but she's been inside of me all this time," she said, smiling and laughing faintly.

Piper smiled weakly, as she picked up the broken picture frame. "Theres always something in the house that gets broken." She carefully took the photo out of the broken glass frame. "I see you got Melinda's clumsiness." She said with a smile, Melinda was just the same, if she got startled things tended to get broken... but if anyone scared Piper things could go with a bang.

"Apparently so," Dahni replied. It was going to be hard talking. She didn't know anything about Piper, or the rest of the family. "In the basement, when I first met you, you knew I was her daughter, didn't you?" she asked quietly. "You knew I was Melinda Halliwell's daughter." She backed up and sat on the bed. It had taken her months to track down the names of her family when she was told she was adopted. It had also broken her heart to hear that they had died before she even knew them.

Piper nodded. "I had an idea, When you've been a witch as long as I have you learn to trust your instints." She picked up a picture that was on the side of her bed. She sat down next to her. "I see her when I look at you." It was the same when she first met Summer, she knew straight away that Summer was Chris's daughter. She passed the picture to Dahni it was of Melinda, it was only taken a few weeks ago. Melinda and Dahni was almost identical at that age.

Dahni smiled at the picture. She then realized she only had one piture of her real mom, which was taken when she was baby. "In the future, she and my adopted mom were almost identical. I was happy when I found that out, at least I had someone who I could picture as my real mom." Dahni smiled at Piper. "I saw pictures of her, when Rachel and I came to the Manor,'' explaining further, in case Piper got confused.

Piper smiled "Fate works in strange ways." Piper had learnt that the hard way. She believed that everything happened for a reason. Maybe there was a reason that Dahni had come to that time, She didn't believe that it was just by accident. After all Piper, Phoebe and Prue had gone to the future before to save phoebe from getting burnt at the stake but they had gone to the wrong time when they had meant to go two weeks before it happened. They had gone there to learn that they shouldn't use their powers to punish the guilty.... but to protect the innocent.

"So are you trying to say that you guys were meant to die and I wasn't supposed to know you?" Dahni asked. She had meant to say it sarcastically, but didn't know if it came out right or not. "For 17 years I have always wanted to meet you guys, and now I'm getting my chance. A lot of whitelighters said you were the greatest, and I should be proud to be your guys' descendant, but it looks like I have a hell of a lot of work a head of me, seeing I just found out about my powers almost a year ago in my time." Dahni knew that she looked about 14 years old, and would know better to curse in front of her grandmother, but alas Dahni was a brilliant 20 year old with the most wonderful career in the world, and Dahni knew that Piper didn't know that she was already out of her teens. At that fact, she smiled.

"Maybe you were brought to this time to get to know us. Everything happens for a reason." Piper said with a weak smile "17 years?" Dahni barely looked 15, a confused look was shown on Piper's face. "You'll get a hang of your powers. You wouldn't have got them if you couldn't control them but like everything it takes time."

"Actually, I'm 20 years old. I was adopted shortly after the whole incident at age 3. 17 plus 3 equals 20," Dahni grinned. The beaming blue eyes watched for the look of shock on her grandmother's face. She was older than she looked, and people still believed her to be in her first years of high school. "And I can sorta control my powers, it's just the pressure and such. It's hard living a normal life then finding out you have these extraordinary gifts. Not that my life was normal."

"I know how that feels." Piper said remembering when Piper first found out that they were witches. She hated the idea and didn't want to accept it. Going from pratically normal to the charmed ones was un-real. Even though Piper wanted some kind of life that was normal or at least as normal as what the halliwells can get, she couldn't imagine life without her powers.

"I didn't get my powers until just before I came to San Francisco, and then this time, after I found Rachel again. Before that..." she trailed off thinking about her life before everything here. She looked like she was daydreaming, forgetting everything around her as she thought about her mom, dad, and brother.
