Beep beep beep
Went the machine that was tracking Melinda’s heart beat. The little line rising and falling as it should, thankfully. But it had been a long fight. She had been rushed through A&E straight into the operating room. Melinda had gotten into a argument with her demon ex boyfriend and her powers had picked the wrong time to mess up. She had been stabbed and beaten, her body bruised and sore. Her ex boyfriend Ryan was about to finish her off when he got distrubed - not wanting to get caught He had shimmered away. Leaving melinda to die what would have been a slow painful death if she hadn't have been found and rushed to hospital.
She had been stitched up and was in a stable condition for now.
Beep beep beep
The sound cutting through the air of the room as Melinda laid in that hospital bed. Her body was still to the point that it could have been dead it was that badly beaten, bruised and a few broken ribs. The nurse had rang her parents, to inform them what happened but so far there was on answer. She was still unconscious, The aesthetic keeping her asleep. The drip connected right to her vein. Her skin was as white as the sheets she was lying on and under. Her completion was almost as white as the streak that was in her hair.

Leo was with a charge when he felt that something was wrong. Very wrong. He tried to sense each member of the family, all coming up fine. Except for his daughter Melinda. Oh no, he thought as he appologized to his charge and orbed to her location. he was in a hospital room, lucky not to have been exposed. "Melinda!" he said as he ran over to her hospital bed. "Angel, what happened? Are you ok?" he asked as tears stuing his eyes.

One of the nurses looking after Melinda glanced round, luckly she had noticed that he had orbed. "I'm taking your her father?" She asked glancing at him. "She won't wake up for a while, the aesthetic is keeping her asleep. All we know is that she was attacked, some one brought her in. She's a lucky girl, if they hadn't have got her here when they did she wouldn't have made it though surgery."

Leo felt his throat get tight and his mouth dry. "S-Surgery?" he said as tears flowed more freely down his cheeks. his baby girl was lying in a hospital bed and in a deep sleep. Thoughts like What if she called and i didn't answer and things like What if she doesn't wake up? were running through his head. "Yes, I am her father. Is it possible for me to be alone with her?" he asked the nurse. he wanted to heal her so they could get out of this mess.

Billie came through the doors and saw Melinda " Leo ? how is she doing ? , im sure she will make it infact im possitive she's a bright inteligent girl . I brought some flowers for her " * puts flowers in a vase and places them on the table next to her , and goes to stand next to Leo .

Leo turned to Billie. "Well I just heard that she is under some slleep medication. She just got out of surgery and is doing good" he said as the tears kept coming and coming. He looked around and saw that the nurse had left. "Quick, shut the door so i can heal her" he said as he put his hands over his daughter and began to heal her. He could heal her wounds, but she would wake up on her own. "That's the best i could do for her. Now I have to wait for her to wake up" he said as he lookied at Billie.

Melinda's eye lashes fluttered, She wasn't conscious but she could hear the faint voice of her father. She moved the tips of her fingers slightly, it was all she could do and it was more of a sign to her dad to show she was still with him.

Piper was at the club when she got the call about Melinda. She had a thousand things to do there but none of it was more important than her daughter. As she was driving to the Hospital though, she realised there was alot of traffic on the roads. "damn it!" Getting annoyed she pulled the car into a parking lot of a shop and hurried out of the car. She wasn't about to just sit in traffic with her daughter in the Hospital. It wasn't far away- she would run. When she finally reached the hospital she rushed in. Feeling a bit shaky she hurried over the the receptionist and found out where Melinda was.
Finally reaching the room she opened the door and saw Leo there with Billie. Spotting Melinda on the bed behind him she could feel a great pain in her heart. Melinda's face was even paler than usual and she looked badly beaten. Feeling tears welling in her eyes Piper turned away and put her hands in her face, not being able to bear seeing her daughter in that condition.

Leo turned and saw Piper walk into the room. Her expression made his heart ache. Leo stood up from the side of her bed and walked over to his wife. "Piper" he said as he went over and embraced her. Having his daughter hurt was one thing, but having Piper like this was hurting him too. He already felt bad because he couldn't remember if Melinda had called him. he still thought that he could have prevented this from happening, and the three of them would be at home right now. Tears ran down his face as he just hugged Piper, not wanting to let go in case something happened. He didn't know what, but he just wanted everyone safe and not to end up like Melinda. "It's going to be ok, don't worry" he said as he tried to convince Piper and Himself.

The steady rate of her heart beat was the only sound that could be heard though out the room. Melinda was regaining consciousness, she could hear her parents better now, She stretched her fingers slightly wanting to show them she was okay... well so to speak.

Piper turned around. It was dead silent except for the beeping, and she didn't like silence. She went over to Melinda's bedside and saw her streching her fingers. "Melinda..." Piper push the streak of white hair off of her face, in case it was bothering her. "Don't worry honey, you're going to be alright, I promise."

Melinda's eyelashes fluttered again. Then they blinked. Then they opened a crack. Then they closed again. etc. Until finally after about two minutes of coming back to the world Melinda could fully open her eyes. The first thing she was aware of was a pain in her side thanks to the broken ribs.Her ears picked up the paniced voice of her mother and with much effort she managed to croak. "Mommy..."

Leo turned around at the sound of his daughters voice. She was awake, and that was good news. Leo went over to to where Piper was standing and looked at his daughter. Tears of joy were coming down his face. "Melinda, daddy's here to" he said as he put his hand in hers. "Do you feel any pain?" he asked so he could heal her before any docter noticed.

She smiled weakly. "Wounded pride and I think i have a few broken ribs." She croaked... as her voice kept failing her "I tried calling for you and aunt paige... you never came."

Leo's heart sank when he heard that she was calling for him. At that moment, Leo cried inside and outside. He could have prevented this, but instead he didn't listen to her. He couldn't believe that he didn't hear her cries. "I'm sorry angel" he said as he kissed her head and turned to Piper.
